A story about contemporary- urban relationships. The intense screenplay revolves around four characters - Shivani Sen, Aseem Roy, Roshni Roy and Kabir Khan.
The dialogues are contemporary and sharp, yet short and apt for the modern day audience. None of the four characters resign to histrionics or melodrama; though two of the characters are from the film industry.
This novel script requires brilliant acting skills to bring out the intensity of the characters and experience the gravity of each dialogue they deliver.
Shivani Sen is an extremely successful woman director of the present Indian film industry. Her contribution to 'Bollywood' is colossal and for that she is highly respected. But lately she is not at her best and is disturbed as she is not able to compromise like the current crop of DVD filmmakers. She further shares an amazing relationship with her ex-husband Aseem Roy, relationship that is still growing, even after the legal separation of over a decade. She decides to take a break and amazingly discovers new horizons in her life on bonding with her teenage daughter - Roshni.
Aseem Roy is Shivani's closest friend and ex-husband, who has not only supported her all along her struggling days to present time, but also loves and respects her for the passion and determination she has had to make it big in a male-dominated industry.
He was more than happy to take a back seat in his career to raise their daughter - Roshni.
Roshni who is now grown into a young and beautiful adult is amazed with the unbreakable relationship of her parents, even after separation of over a decade. She is unable to see the real reason for their mutual divorce. She loves and respects her mother for all her achievements; but regards her father above all for the loving and caring person he is. She cannot imagine her life without 'PAPA'. Roshni is a big fan of Kabir Khan, who is Bollywood's biggest star and friend to Shivani - her mother.
Shivani and Kabir are very old friends and look upon each other as ideal companions for 'forever'. When Kabir is introduced to Roshni by Shivani he finds her to be a very intelligent yet loving 'buddy'. Roshni and Kabir bond through their common love for art and reading intellectual books.
Roshni presently stands at an intersection from where she can look into the past that could unfold the reason for her beloved parents' separation and she can peep into the future where she has to come to terms with the closeness she can sense between her mother and her 'buddy' - Kabir.
Roshni is a common thread linking Shivani, Aseem and Kabir and Roshni's step towards her own life will determine the course of their future life.... What will her step be???
